Flores de Teotitlán Clavel Candle Handmade in Teotitlán del Valle, Oaxaca

This candle was shaped and decorated entirely by hand using traditional beeswax techniques from Teotitlán del Valle, Oaxaca. The centerpiece is a layered wax carnation, formed while the wax is still pliable and arranged to create a full, blooming shape.

Artisans begin by heating and dyeing natural wax, then slowly building the candle around a cotton wick. The flower is sculpted by hand, petal by petal, without using any molds. This technique is passed down through generations and often tied to celebrations, offerings, and religious observances in the region.
